Play in 5 minutes with this simple technique

fast solo rpg five minutes session

One of the big problems in the solo rpg is to finish your adventures. It's very easy to start, but sometimes you get lost along the way. The technique I suggest below will force you to create an adventure in 5 minutes flat.
It's also a great way to practice and stimulate your imagination

It is essential that you keep in mind the following objectives:
1. Live an adventure from beginning to end
2. Create a link to the next adventure
3. Enrich the background / Meet a pnj

Draw 4 oracles and choose 3 of them:
. An oracle represents the specificity of the dungeon or the place where your adventure takes place.
. One oracle represents the first trial
. One oracle represents the second trial

1st minute - Background: with the first oracle, quickly imagine the background. Be awesome, and inventive. Set a simple goal to start with. For example, there is gold in the dungeon.

2nd minute - Challenge 1. You always succeed in the first trial. Describe how you get past this first obstacle.
Draw an oracle to be interpreted as a bonus that you win (a magic item, an ally, a secret information...)

3rd minute. Challenge 2. The second trial is always a partial failure. Draw an oracle to interpret the reasons for your failure. Now you have a choice:

  • A)Draw another oracle to imagine the consequences of your failure.
  • B)Turn the failure into a success by using your bonus earned in the previous round (usable only once). Of course, you have to be consistent. Not all bonuses can work.
  • C) Turn failure into success by using your secret bonus (see below)

4th minute. Unexpected event. You have reached your goal! But an unexpected event prevents you from escaping or getting what you want. Draw an oracle and interpret it. It could be the boss of the dungeon (if you didn't defeat him in the previous round), a traitor, a background event, etc.
5th minute: Conclusion
As in step 3, use a bonus to end the adventure. Open the threads.

Secret Bonus: The thing you didn't know! In step 2 or 3, you can draw an oracle to get a secret bonus. This bonus represents something your character has hidden from you!
1. something the character did without telling you
2. A secret power that your character has that you didn't know about.
